How to finish gap between rendered wall and concrete driveway

My townhouse was built by unskilled trades persons.  I have this uneven gap between the rendered vertical wall and the concrete driveway.  I suspect the two edges need cleaning up to be straight/even ?  maybe not ?  Then some kind of concrete (?) to fill the gap ?

The solution needs to be practical to seal the space and also asthetically pleasing (as this is near the front door entrance).20250221_202738[1].jpg20250221_202932[1].jpg20250221_202940[1].jpg

Re: How to finish gap between rendered wall and concrete driveway

Hi @wendyf1,

A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.

The solution to this issue is to apply a bead of flexible sealant such as this Sika 600ml Concrete Grey Sikaflex 11FC Purform.

Start by giving the area a good clean and chipping off any loose concrete or render.

Use some painter's tape to mask off the wall and ground allowing for enough sealant, around 5-10mm wide, to fully cover the gap.

Apply a fairly thick bead of Sikaflex between the tape, then strike it off using this Paint Partner 4 Piece Silicone Scraper Set. I'd suggest using the corner of the scraper I have pointed to below.

After striking off the silicone, while the silicone is still wet, pull the tape to create a perfectly straight edge.

You might like to check out How to use painter's tape and How To Silicone a Gap for some further guidance.

Let me know what you think.

Jacob
