How to design low-level deck?
Hi Everybody,
i am taking on the challenge of building two separate decks on in the backyard and one in the internal garden. I am doing my research on this because I have never done one. I was wondering if someone could help me with designing the sub frame, location of pedestals material etc?
Cheers

Re: DIY low level decking project
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @au66621. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about creating a deck.
I recommend you start with this guide on How to build a low-level deck. You'll then want to go through this step-by-step guide: How to build a deck.
We can certainly assist you with any questions you have. I recommend you go through the above guides first, which will give you a good understanding of the construction process. You'll also need to check with your local council as to whether permission is required. If you do need to submit an application, you will need design drawings, which an engineer can produce for you.
If you'd like to plan out your deck and draw some sketches for us, including your bearers/joists, frame and support locations, we can let you know if that will work.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
