How to cover an exposed sewage pipe check valve?

Hi everyone, I'm seeking advice on an outdoor sewage pipe check valve located on my driveway. The valve is currently open and visible, and I'd like to conceal or cover it. Since it's made of concrete and steel, what would be a suitable option to put over or around it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!2d27edcddc6d74df15343a45c767a62c.JPG20dd48bffd7d48370f21be713fb82b4a.JPG

Re: Covering an Exposed Sewage Pipe Check Valve - Ideas Needed!

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @alexy. It's fabulous to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about covering a drain grate.

It looks like the cast iron cover has been removed or disintegrated. Are you able to remove to two screws? If so you could create a template and cut some marine plywood out to suit. A bit of bitumen paint should help it withstand the weather, and it can be glued in place with silicone.

The other option would be to have a plumber come in, remove the concrete surround and top of the cast iron pipe and install a new PVC inspection outlet at soil level. That would likely be the best solution.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

G'day @alexy

"located on my driveway."

Are car tyres driving over this?

Have you been able to remove the screws/bolts?

I'm happy to make one of steel if you like. Larger variety seen HERE .

Otherwise Mitchell's thoughts look solid.

Let me know - I enjoy celebrating.
