Wanting to build a picket fence on top of an approx. 0.3m high rendered brick retaining wall. Attached photos of what it is currently and a couple of ideas that we’ve seen at other properties. How do you suggest we go about this? Use metal base plates screwed directly into the top of the render?
Hello @eliza2
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about building a small picket fence.
I suggest using VUEPRO 90mm Galvanised Tradies Bolt Down Post Support. Depending on the conditions and the type of brick you have under the render I suggest using the Ramset 300ml Chemset UltraFix Plus along with the Ramset M10 x 130mm Galvanised Chemset Stud. For hollow brick applications make sure to use the Ramset Multifit Sieve.
The post support takes standard 90x90 timber posts which will allow you to install your rails from either the front or inside of the post.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
