What timber is best to be used for an outdoor Soccer kickboard
Hi @camps,
Thank you for your question.
As a lifelong footballer and junior coach, this is a project I can certainly get behind.
I'm assuming the idea is to build a frame that you can kick the ball into, and it will rebound back at you to so you can practice your touch?
If so, it will need to be relatively sturdy, so that it can absorb and reflect the force from the ball.
I would suggest using 70 x 35mm Outdoor Framing H3 Treated Pine to build a frame and then 90 x 22mm Decking H3 Treated Pine to create the rebounding face.
I am thinking something like this design would be perfect.
Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Hi @camps,
Bunnings can cut timber to the nearest 100mm, so the design can certainly be tailored to this rule. Unfortunately, our cut shops can't do angled cuts, so you must cut the angled pieces at the back yourself. You could make these cuts with a handsaw.
The design I have created requires the following pieces -
As the 450mm pieces are for the angled braces, you can have them cut to 500mm long and then make the angled cuts yourself at home.
Everything can be screwed together using Zenith 10 - 8 x 75mm Galvanised Countersunk Rib Head Timber Screws.
This will make a nice strong rebound board for your boy to practice his passing and touches.
Let me know what you think, and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
