Your next step will be contacting your local council to find out if engineered plans will need to be submitted for approval on the project. Your engineer can select suitable materials to correspond with your design choices. Regarding those, you might like to begin putting some basic drawers together to share with our helpful members. That will give them a better idea of the style of roofing you were envisaging, whether you'd encounter any obstacles and how this 6x5 meter pergola is orientated towards the wall. The types and sizes of timber directly correlate with how they are supported. The more support posts you can install, the smaller the roof structure timbers can be. Say, for instance, if you were to go with only four posts, you would need exceptionally large timbers, as that's not really an appropriate number of posts for that size pergola. However, if you went with five posts, you'd be able to use much more cost-effective and readily available timbers.
