I'm planning to build a pump shed which needs to be attached to an existing concrete slab. Shed will be Treated Pine Outdoor Timber Framing 90*45 with Mini Ripple Iron Sheet Cladding 2400*634mm on the outside. What is the best way to attach the timber frame to the slab?
Hi @me429sb,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.
You'll want to put a masonry anchor such as a DynaBolt or an AnkaScrew through the bottom plate into the concrete in every second stud bay.
If your concrete slab is 100mm thick, use 10 x 100mm Galvanised DynaBolts or 10 x 100mm Galvanised AnkaScrews. If your slab is not as thick, size down to 75mm versions.
You'll also want to attach CAgroup 110mm x 30m x 500um Plascourse to the underside of the bottom plate to prevent direct contact between the timber and concrete.
It sounds like a great project, so I hope this advice sets you in the right direction. If you would like any further advice or guidance, please don't hesitate to reach out.
