Engineering simulations show that houses are most vunerable during severe storms
at Balconies, Alfrecos,Verandahs ,etc wind can gust around your house

These outdoors areas we enjoy the most but ironically we pay the least attention to structurally...LOL.. most alfrescos are lucky to get a hose down..if you get my gist
With global warming and extreme weather pattens on the increase..
things to look out for, repair and/or update
1. Corrosion ..replace corroded brackets
2. Loose rafters, roof framing members.. strap and secure with hoop iron and clouts
3. Cracked ceiling lining..replace
4. Design Codes ...Check up to date wind rating codes for compliance
5. Don't forget to check your Insurance Policy and see to what extent you are covered for Non-compliance.
To echo @Jason's comment, I am also devastated to see the loss occurring throughout the affected areas. No doubt, some of our members are currently battling weather-related issues around their own homes. I would encourage anyone affected to let us know if they need any advice on damage control, cleanup, and repairs. I would be more than happy to provide as much assistance as possible.
