There are some small cracks in the driveway. I am considering repainting it using the Delux 3-stage products. Is "Dulux Concrete And Paving Sealed Surface Cleaner" enough to clean the old paint? Or shall I use something else to remove the old paint first? Any suggestion to patch the crackers? Thanks.
Hi @timmyg,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. We trust you'll find our members are providing helpful advice and inspiring projects on the site every day.
Can you please tell us if you've already had a go at removing the paint? For example, using a pressure washer might be a good way to start. Given it has already worn in patches, it does seem like it would be best to remove as much as possible so the new coating has the best surface to adhere to.
Thanks,
Jason
Hi Jason,
Thanks for the quick replay. No, I haven't started anything yet. I am planning this as a holiday project. Any suggesion on what product can remove the old paint?
Hello @timmyg
Thanks for sharing your question about your driveway. Due to the rough finish of the concrete surface, I can only suggest a mechanical means of removing the paint on the surface. As much as I would like to recommend a chemical means of removing the paint, the results could be unpredictable. You would then be back to square one and that is to use a mechanical means of stripping the surface.
As an alternative, I suggest getting a professional to strip the surface for you and then you can then paint the surface yourself.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
