Transformed this corner of our yard into a neat fire pit area with a surrounding garden.
First step was removing the trees which we use a chainsaw and a few trailer loads to get rid of the branches and logs.
Second step we ended up hiring a mini excavator to remove the roots and 3 tonnes worth of dirt to get it levelled with the ground.
Third step using treated pine wood was building a retaining wall to hold the garden.
Fourth step was levelling the ground for a final time and then using landscaping sand as a base for the pavers and then used salt n pepper stones to finish it off with pavers to hold them in.
Great little entertainment area all year round.
Hi @burnsie,
Thank you so much for sharing to Workshop your transformation of the corner of your yard.
It has certainly opened up the area and I am sure will give you so much more use.
Was it much trouble digging those existing trees out?
Carl
Thanks Carl!
Haha very painful. Ended up having to hire a mini excavator to dig it up for us, quite a few roots underneath all that dirt.
cheers,
Brendan
