Our old stormwater drain was squashed so we asked our plumber to replace a new one and also moving the drain away from the driveway to give us more space to extend our current driveway.
However... we hv just realized the main water line is also close to the current driveway🤦♂️
What is the most cost effective solution?
Could we wrap the water line with a pvc pipe putting new concrete driveway above it?

Hello @ivanptr
Placing a PVC pipe over your existing water pipe should work, it will allow you to service the water pipe just in case there are any leaks. But if the break or damage is in the middle, the entire pipe will have to be pulled out repaired and pushed back into the PVC. The other option is calling the plumber again to add extensions so that the water pipe can be moved out of the way and not be buried under concrete.
It would be more cost effective to bury the pipe and cover it with PVC, just keep in mind that the PVC pipe must be big enough so that any plumbing attachment such as a 25mm locking nut at the end of the hose can pass through it.
