Hi Dudes,
Can I attach slotted 50mm Ag Pipe to my rain water tank overflow outlet, to water my garden?...the parts that don't get rain. Would be about 20m long. PVC pipe from tank to ground then Ag pipe. If I put an end cap on the Ag pipe it would hold lots of overflow to then re-distribute to the garden. Similar to a grey water distribution pipe. Would need to put a backup 2nd overflow for when its Biblical rain in the PVC part. Using the Ag pipe in reverse
Hi @bean,
I can't see any reason you couldn't do this. It's an interesting idea and I'm fairly confident it would work.
Adding a secondary overflow would be worthwhile. If you never need it, you never need it, but in the event, you do, you'll be happy you put it in.
Allow me to tag @Dave-1, @Noyade and @Nailbag for their thoughts.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

Good Evening @bean
Love your idea! Seriously its a good one with outside the box thinking Id possibly go for two or even three runs of the ag pipe to water the garden with the overflow. Id also be tempted to go to the 100mm ag pipe since you will be digging a trench why not use it to your best advantage. You will be charging the area around the pipe with water so I really dont see an issue. You see plenty of street trees with the ag pipe down into the root ball area for council to come along and water them
Brilliant reverse idea.
Dave
