This is one of my Outdoor Kitchen favourites! I'd love to hear if you try it out, and what you think.
Ingredients
Servings are per person. Adjust to preference.
Preparation
Prepare all ingredients in bowls before you start cooking! Soak Noodles in hot water 10 minutes before cooking. Rinse and allow to drain. Prep is key for this dish to ensure guests aren't kept waiting when you start serving one at a time.
Power tip:
BBQ Wipes are a great way to keep your wok clean in between sizzle rounds!
1. Put 2 tablespoons of oil in wok. Add egg and chop into fine pieces. Store in bowl and cover. Wipe wok.
2. Put 1 tablespoon of oil in wok. Cook meat and store in bowl, and cover. Wipe wok.
You are ready to put everything together now.
3. Put 3 tablespoons of oil in wok and get really, really hot. Drop in bean shoots and spring onions and stir rapidly.
4. Put pad thai sauce in and stir.
5. Put egg and meat in and stir.
6. Put noodles, sesame oil and fish sauce in and stir.
7. Place into bowl, and squirt a small amount of lime juice over, sprinkle with peanuts and sesame seeds. Finish off with a large sprinkle of coriander.
8. Enjoy!
I'm really hungry now. Many thanks for sharing @Ben. I love Pad Thai and often cook it, although its never as good as the one I cooked in Thailand when at a Thai cooking school. Unfortunately it isn't always easy getting the same fresh ingredients here in Australia. Have you ever tried making the paste from scratch?
Jason
That's a great idea. I love Pad Thai and will give Ben's recipe a go. Think I'll try the sauce from the supermarket first... then try making my own sauce!
Hi @Ben,
I found my recipe card from the cooking school. Have a go at making the sauce! You should be able to find tamarind at good Asian grocers.
Jason
Ben this looks delicious, it's making me hungry!
Hi @Ben, That looks mouth watering! I think we may be having Pad Thai for dinner tonight!
Thank you @Jason for the sauce recipe. I've always just used the various Valcom pastes for most Thai dishes I make.
