Hi I sanded back a pine table used 2 x coats white chalk paint, then used the recommended top coat (luckily a test patch) it has gone yellow. I can repaint over that with the chalk paint but what can I use to seal it without it going yellow. Thanks
Hi @teegees
Ummm you are right even though they say its clear many do have a slight tint of sorts.
Well this Spray gloss Clear Claims it is non yellowing I never noticed it alter any colours maybe worth a look at.
Great project
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @teegees. It's lovely to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about chalk paints.
Could you let me know if these products were purchased through us and what they were? This will help me identify whether the top coat used is the one recommended for our chalk paint range. Typically, the top coats we offer for chalk paints should not yellow the finish. For example, the Rustoleum chalk paints are designed to be coated with the Rust-Oleum 887ml Clear Matt Chalked Protective Topcoat. If they were our products, we can investigate further to ensure everything works as intended.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
