can I remove this horizontal post in my built in wardrobe

Morning. Just wondering if it's ok to remove this beam in my walk in wardrobe. It goes through into the wall so hoping it's not going to be structural.

Need to take it out to fit in Ikea wardrobe

Thanks.

Luke

Re: can I remove this horizontal post in my built in wardrobe

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @mcclolu1. It's fantastic to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about removing timber.

Given the location, it’s unlikely that the beam is structural, but it may serve a purpose for the wardrobe's internal framework or for supporting the cabinet door on the right-hand side. Are you planning to remove the cabinet doors as well, or do you intend to keep them and modify the wardrobe around this beam? If it’s serving a non-structural role, you could likely remove it, but it’s important to confirm if it’s connected to the door hardware or anything else in the wardrobe system.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
