Just about every room in our house has carpet which I hate. We have discovered that underneath there are bare floor boards. Pretty sure they have always been covered by carpet so they have never been treated.
I would like some advice on what the best options are if we do rip the carpet up.
Hi @ToriRy,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.
Do you have a photo of the floorboards you could share?
If they are still in good condition then you may have an incredible opportunity to restore and bring them back to life.
This involves sanding them, for which you can use How To Sand Timber Floors as a guide.
Once sanded, you would then seal them with an oil or varnish to protect them and bring out their natural beauty. Check out How To Seal Timber Floors for guidance on this step of the process.
I'd love to see what your carpets have been hiding for years and help you restore them to their former glory.
