What is the black window seal/edging?

Hi all, 

Seeking advice on what the black seal/edging is around window panes? One of my windows has none. Please see photos for context. Thanks so much

Hi @JSLawrence 

That  black  rubber is used to hold the glass in place so what you need to do is get a good bit of it and take into bunnings and see if they have a  close profile (shape and size ) match.   Dunlop rubber also  have a good selection of rubber seals for most application.

There are other  foams and rubbers but ideally you need the correct one.

At a pinch  glaziers should also carry it as thats  there expert field they need it to fix   windows but they will charge an in flated  price possibly
