I'm looking for durable and high-quality floor transition covers to bridge a 10mm height difference between carpet and tiles.
The key requirement is that the transition cover should not damage or attach to the carpet in any way but can be stick to the tiles.
I recently tried a cheap PVC transition cover from TEMU and used double-sided tape to stick it to the tiles. While it fit for the purpose, the quality was subpar, which is understandable given the price.
I’d prefer a more reliable, long-term solution that looks good and is easy to install. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Hi @hungrymind,
I'm not aware of any stick-on cover trims. There are cover trims such as the Roberts 1.65m Pewter Hammered Cover Strip Trim that are designed to be nailed to the subfloor if it is timber. The fixing nails should be able to be placed between the aluminium edge on the tiles and the edge of the carpet, not damaging it.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
Thanks @MitchellMc .
How do I fix this product? Does it require nailing? https://bunnings.com.au/applinks_p6827830?source=product_share&utm_source=bunnings&utm_medium=retail...
Hello @hungrymind
The Roberts 1.65m Bronze Junior Ramp Floating Floor Trim requires the use of the Roberts Ramp And Cover Trim Plug - 10 Pack. You'll need to drill into the floor in order for the plugs to be pushed into the mounting holes.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
