Sideboard makeover freshly painted and stained
- Clean using sugar soap and warm water
- Scuff sand area wanting to paint using 120grit paper
- Primed using Zinsser
- Painted in Taubmans ultimate enamel paint. Can be tinted in your preferred colour
-Sanded the entire top using Makita orbital sander various grit papers working up to fine paper ( some hand sanding was required)
- Stained with Cabot's waterbased stain and vanish in colour Marita grey.
- Sealed top stain for extra durability with cabothane clear. Not required however I did this step.
That upcycled sideboard is just divine. That cabinet benchtop came up so nice. Did you use the same technique as you did with the bed side tables? What paint did you dilute this time?
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful project.
Eric
Thanks Eric. No this time
I didn't dilute the stain and vanish. But I did seal it for extra protection. I also do a light hand sand in between stain applications.
Thanks for that extra information on how you finished the tabletop of the cabinet. It's amazing how you finished off the surface in such a professional manner, it looks like it was done with a sprayer.
Eric
