I believe you must love every piece you have in your place and if you do not have something special in your mind or a budget for a special piece, I am happy to live with a DIY, even mine.
I needed dimensions for a room and had only a rusted anove toilet shelf I could DIY. Paint, add shelves, kind of knit the shelves and this is how it turns out

The shelf renovation looks good a nice little project finished they used to say waste not want not.
Cost of materials going up you might be a new trend setter going back to a past era in a good way.

Thank you very much for sharing your shelf recycling project. It's great that you've decided to give this piece a second chance, often times we tend to throw away things in the skip because it's old. Sometimes all we need is a little bit of imagination and spray paint. A fantastic way to upcycle a product.
