Hi everyone,
I like to install a Living Elements 1200 x 450 x 5mm Flat Edge Mirror.I did it once many years ago and it was easy as I remember. I needed a double sides tape and a glue.
Now when I read the instructions, it says that the mirror can be installed using double sided mirror mount tape and Selleys liquid nails and glass adhesive. Which are all okay.
Then in the 5. step in the instruction, when the mirror is mounted and pressed against the wall , it says to prop mirror for 48 hours to avoid movement.
How can prop a flat edge mirror?
Anyone know how to prop it or if it is really necessary?
Thanks,
Mariam
Hello @Mariam27
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about installing your mirror.
A prop is an item that holds/supports the mirror temporarily until the adhesive or glue cures. In this instance, I suggest using regular masking tape to support the corners of the mirror until the adhesive cures. I recommend putting several long strips on each corner of the mirror and leaving it overnight just to be sure that the adhesive has cured. Once the mirror is secure you can then remove the masking tape and giving the mirror a quick wipe down.
My best advice is to make sure that the adhesive you are using is neutral curing or is specifically made for mirror mounting.
