hi these feel like vinyl. Do you think they are? Do I need to sand before painting and should I use a roller. Wanting lexicon half colour and not sure on paint type. Thanks

Re: How to update wardrobe sliding doors?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Nicola_jane16. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about wardrobe doors.

It’s entirely possible that your sliding wardrobe doors are vinyl or at least vinyl-coated.

To ensure the paint adheres properly, it’s best to do a test section first in an inconspicuous spot. Lightly sand the area with 240-grit sandpaper, apply a coat of Dulux Max Adhesion primer, and wait 24 hours for it to dry. Then, take a retractable knife and lightly cut a small cross into the painted surface. Apply sticky tape over the area and rip it off. If the primer stays in place, that’s a good indication it has bonded well, and you can confidently proceed with your project.

Once the doors have been prepped with the primer, you can coat them with Dulux Aquanamel in Lexicon Half. Using a high-quality microfibre roller will help achieve a smooth, professional finish.

Remember to wear cut-resistant gloves when using the knife and a face mask when sanding the doors.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks and if we are buying in large tins could we use on kitchen cabinetry or is it a different sheen?

Re: How to update wardrobe sliding doors?

Yes, you can use that primer and paint on kitchen cabinetry @Nicola_jane16. Durability-wise, there are stronger options, such as the Dulux Renovation Range, though.
