hey everyone,
im hoping someone can help me with finding a latch, very strong magnet or a lock of some sort that would perfectly fit in the little gap between my balcony fly screen sliding door & the window.. my fly screen door slides open with a strong wind or my cat leaning on the screen! is there anything simple that i can install to ensure it doesn’t slide open so easily? any advice is appreciated, thanks all

Good Morning @sevs
Smart pets Love the way they learn how to do things.
I was thinking of a latch at first but then if you are outside how could you unlatch it
I thought of an elasticised band that you could open the door and unhook then slide it all the way but that could be frustrating each time.
So I went looking and found this Adoored Ezi-Close Screen Door Closer I havnt seen one before but it looks like it could solve your problem without a fancy handle being used.
The magnets I found that could work are Taskmaster 46mm White Magnetic Door Catch - 3 Pack but think they will take up too much space for when the door is closed so it wont be a smooth "click"

Hi @sevs
Those are great suggestions by @Dave-1. Another idea which I have used to solve the same problem was to use magnetic tape. Bunnings have a range of sizes. Then glue or screw a short steel strip to the other side for it to catch on as the door frame will be aluminium.

Hello @sevs
It's great that you've received excellent suggestions from @Dave-1. I totally agree with the recommendations made, either of the products suggested will keep your sliding door closed. My best suggestion is to double up the magnet latches should you notice that they are not strong enough to hold the door in place.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Good evening,
I have used the Adoored Ezi-Close Screen Door Closer and it works quite good, and is easy to install, it would keep the door closed.
The other good thing with this if you need the door to stay open you just undo the hook ate the end.
The magnets idea is also good Taskmaster 46mm White Magnetic Door Catch - 3 Pack and I would use all 3 also.
I hope this helps.
