Hello
I am sanding open timber staircase that is stained,
I have reached the under part of the timber treads
and I would like to know apart from an orbital sander and a general sander is there another sander that is available?
Or do I use elbow grease.
Any help will be appreciated.

Hello @House
Thank you for sharing your question about sanding your timber stairs. I recommend using a detail sander so that you can get into the tight corners of the stair assembly. The orbital sanders are great for large open spaces, but their large round pads prevent them from going into corners.
There are corded and cordless models, but if you've already invested in one of the current popular cordless brands, it's best to get something that's compatible.
Your timber stair revamp project looks very interesting, please keep us updated with your progress, I'm sure our members will be keen to see what it looks like once you start painting it.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
