Re: How to repaint a door frame?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @gbrar6. It's marvellous to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about repairing a door frame.
Are you looking to repair this damage as you are leaving the property or do you wish to repair the damage and continue to use the overhanging clothes hanger?
If you are looking to repair the frame then you can lightly sand the area to remove any scratch marks and then repaint with Dulux Aquanamel in the same colour. Painting the whole top of the frame will give you the most consistent result. Any gloss needs to be dulled with sandpaper before painting over.
These types of hangers do tend to scuff the top of the frame as every time the door opens and closes, they rub against it. Only when the door has quite the gap between the door and frame do they not mark it. I have one of them on my daughter's door. Recently, she's been in the habit of slamming her door, and there are now chunks of timber missing from the door frame due to this. You might like to look for other hanging options that affix to the face of the door rather than hang over it.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
