Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your question about painting your split aircon system.
I recommend having a look at this discussion - How to clean a dirty old air-conditioner? by @elly1. You'll find plenty of tips on how to prepare the aircon head unit for painting. Please make sure to mask of any sensitive areas and to cover off the infrared receiver of your unit.
In regards to the condenser, I suggest using sugar soap to prepare the surface of the outside unit. Again, make sure to mask off sensitive areas such as the cooling vanes. I recommend spray painting the body so that there will be no visible brush marks.
Please make sure to wear personal protection such as gloves, goggles and a paint mask when painting your aircon unit.
