How to paint cane lounge?

I have a cane lounge (photo attached) and would like some advice on what paint to use, I would like it painted white.

do I need an undercoat?

• how much paint approx would I need?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's fabulous to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your question about how to paint your cane lounge.

Your sofa looks like it is still in very good condition, I suggest having a look at this discussion - How to restore salvaged wicker/cane/bamboo/rattan furniture? by @ME_1. I also recommend looking at this one as well - How to paint cane furniture by @Diy_Shell. 

The general steps to restoration and painting are sanding, washing and then prepping the furniture for painting. It's important to remove any loose paint before you put on new paint on the cane lounge. However, if your cane furniture is still in good condition and its surface is still smooth and not breaking apart, I suggest using Dulux 1L PRECISION Maximum Strength Adhesion Primer White as the main primer for your lounge. This will provide a robust surface for the top coat to adhere to.
