Hi, I would like some advice on vinyl flooring. Do you put adhesive underneath the vinyl flooring. What types are available? Do you have to put underlay? Thanks
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Tinna3. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about vinyl flooring.
Were you considering sheet vinyl, vinyl tiles, vinyl planks or hybrid vinyl planks? We have all three options, and the installation method varies for each.
Sheet vinyl is typically glued down with contact adhesive, while vinyl tiles and vinyl planks usually have a self-adhesive backing, so no extra glue is needed. Hybrid vinyl planks, on the other hand, are a floating floor system and don’t require any adhesive at all.
Were you planning to remove the existing flooring and laying it directly onto the cement? All four types of vinyl flooring need a smooth, level surface, so if your concrete floor has any imperfections, it may need some preparation before installation.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
