Thank you for your question about installing wall tiles on old timber linings in your living room.
I have not been able to find a suitable product for tiling directly over a timber lining like this.
The best practice would be to remove the old lining and install Villaboard following the Villaboard Lining Installation Guide before tiling over the top.
If removing the timber lining is not an option, Villaboard can be installed over the top of the wall assuming you can get a good connection with the studwork underneath. You might like to use a stud finder to help with this.
Once the Villaboard is installed you can use Dunlop 15kg Wall Tile Adhesive to stick your tiles to the wall.
