Hi everyone,
I recently bought a large round mirror from kmart: https://www.kmart.com.au/product/large-round-mirror-42556381/.
- diameter: 80 cm
- weight: 5.35 kg
The back of the mirror has 2 holes which are supposed to be used to hang it.
- the distance between the 2 holes is 38.6 cm (centre to centre)
I would like to hang it on my wall, which is gyprock.
What would be the best and simplest way to hang it?
(I have no experience hanging anything on the wall other than using one of those command strips)
Hi @bilcruise,
We've had this question before on that mirror: How to hang a heavy mirror? Two screws need to be installed in the wall at the appropriate spacing. The screw heads must fit inside the cross sections, and their shank must be small enough to slide up into the cutout to lock the mirror in place. Have a look at the rendering I provided in that discussion for more information.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
Hey @MitchellMc , thanks for sending me to that page. Wouldn’t have thought someone else had the same question on the same exact mirror haha.
would it be sufficient to do both screws on the wall using the wallmate you recommended? So neither will be on the stud.
@MitchellMc will be back on the site tomorrow @bilcruise, thanks for your patience in the meantime.
Jason
Hi @bilcruise,
Those Ramset Nylon WallMate Plasterboard Anchors can support up to 10kg each, so the total weight of 5.35kg shouldn't be an issue for the two of them.

Got it. Thank you @MitchellMc and @Jason . Appreciate your help.
