How to fix where paint tape has removed paint?

Hi Mind Hive. I've had an accident removing some paint tape when painting a the trim around a feature wall (my own fault - too hasty and probably left on too long :). Such a shame because the edge was perfect! It's removed the two layers of paint in a patch so has a tiny edge to it. Just wondering what is the best and easiest way to fix. If I sand it will still show after painting so I was thinking a thin layer of Selleys Spakfilla then sand flat and repaint. Thoughts?

Re: Paint tape has removed paint - what's the best way to fix?

That sounds like a solid plan, @DIYHaveaCrack. Applying a thin layer of Selleys Spakfilla will help build up the area to match the surrounding surface. Just ensure that you sand it down smoothly once it's dry, so the patch blends seamlessly with the existing paint. As you mentioned, simply sanding the edges alone won't effectively hide the difference in paint layers, so this approach should give you the best result.

Please let me know if you have questions or need further assistance.

Hi @DIYHaveaCrack,

If I hadn't seen the before photo, I would never know.

Congratulations on a job well down.
