How to fix hole from curtain holder?

Hi there. This is my first time to join in the workshop.

My lil one accidentally pulled out the curtains and in turn ripped the curtain holder on the gyprock wall.

Any advice on fixing this would be appreciated.

Re: How to fix the little hole

Hello @cgab

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your curtain rail fixing.

I suggest having a quick look at these guides:

The general steps are to cut the damaged section off in a square pattern. Install timber support inside the plasterboard wall using screws. You then put the plaster repair panel onto the damaged section, plaster filler is then applied to hide the join of the patch. Because you have timber behind the wall, you can now screw straight into the wall and onto the timber support. Your curtain post won't need to use plasterboard wall anchors any more.

Please make sure to wear personal protection such as gloves, goggles and a mask when working on your repair project.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Re: How to fix hole from curtain holder?

Hi @cgab,

I thought I'd also mention that if you have the ability to move the location of the fixings then you could simply fill the damage with Plaster filler. You'll need to unscrew the remaining two plaster fittings and then cut the raised damaged plaster away so it's not proud of the surface. Next, apply the filler into the holes. Once dry, you can sand the area smooth and then add another thin coat of filler over the whole area to blend it in with the surrounding wall.

Please let us know if you have any questions.
