Hello,
Please help. The door won’t close with the clothes hanger. Any suggestions how to fix it?
I know it’s easier to drill wall mates but that would be the last option since I prefer not to create more holes in the house.
Do I need to shave the top part of the door with a chisel?

I have used two methods which have worked well for me on hollow door thin Masonite, which is around 4mm thick.
Aluminium nut rivets and expanding hollow wall anchors that can accommodate 4mm thickness.
I know you're not keen to drill holes in the door, so be warned - the M5 nut rivet requires a 6mm hole and the M4 expanding anchor - 8mm.
