Hi there,

Is there a fix to close up the gaps between my vinyl flooring planks?

Re: closing gap for vinyl floor planks

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Josh86. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about closing gaps in vinyl floorboards.

Are these hybrid vinyl boards? As, they typically have a tongue on the ends that ensures the installation has no gaps.

Unfortunately, once the flooring is clipped together, it's incredibly hard to shift them. Even if you could close the gap, you would just be shifting it to the next boards down. If they were able to be moved you could continue shifting the gap to the skirting board, where it would be hidden. I have seen people shift these styles of boards by clamping a suction cup onto them and tapping it with a hammer.

I know it's not ideal, but if the skirting hasn't been installed, I'd recommend you lift the boards and try the installation again and work with tighter tolerances.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
