Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Minion. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about creating a bed frame.
Creating a bed from PVC pipes would indeed be a creative project, but it's not a typical material used for bed construction. Timber is a more practical and cost-effective choice for building a bed frame with plenty of plans and resources available. PVC pipe would typically be considered unsuitable for constructing a bed frame due to potential safety hazards and instability. It would also likely be more difficult and expensive than using timber once all the corner fittings are considered.
I highly recommend using conventional materials like timber for a safe and durable bed frame. There are still plenty of ways to get creative and add your own touch to the project. An incredibly simple and cost-effective bed base can be created by painting nine half Besser blocks black and placing a sheet of 18mm MDF on top of them.
If you would like to go ahead with your PVC pipe idea, then I'd recommend you sketch up some plans for our members on what you're envisaging. That way, they'll be able to offer informed and helpful responses.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
