Hi
I am looking to reline the walls of an existing bedroom. I plan on installing new plasterboard on the top half of the wall, with VJ panelling and a Dado rail on the bottom.
As the plasterboard is 10mm and the VJ panelling is 9mm, I wondered how to get there to meet nearly? Will the difference in thickness be hidden behind the dado rail? Or will I need to pack the VJ panelling out by 1mm somehow?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @tarragindi_haus. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about installing VJ panel.
1mm is extremely close, and once a dado rail is installed over the transition, there's no way of seeing the difference. The rail will be minutely sloped, but that won't be discernible by eye.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
