The fireplace has previously been repaired. However, there was a moisture issue which has now been resolved, but it had caused ‘bubbles’ on the face of the hearth. The major cracks, probably caused by movement in winter/summer also need to be repaired. The fireplace is still used occasionally, so whatever is suggested needs to be able to withstand heat. TIA

Re: How can i repair cracks in a rendered brick fireplace?

Hello @worker1

The only heat rated mortar the store carries is the Dingo 10KG Fire Rated Mortar Bag. It is suitable for use in constructions of pizza ovens, fireplaces and barbeques. It's perfect for patching of existing pizza ovens, fireplaces, barbeques and is heat resistant up to 1000c. However, in regards to the paint to be used, I suggest speaking to a fireplace specialist.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.
