Hi there.
I have just pull out the skirting board and found that the wall is damaged (there are aslo some nail holes).
How can I fix it? I would like to fix it and then apply the new skirting board.
Cheers,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Ian0403. It's marvellous to have you join us, and many thanks for the question about repairing your wall.
You can use render to patch the damage to your wall. Here's a step-by-step guide on How to render, which I trust you'll find helpful. Remember to remove any loose or degraded material before you start the rendering process. The render can also be used to fill those nail holes.
Please let me know if you have any questions or need further assistance.

Hi Ian @Ian0403
Two boards visible - but only one exposed space? Do they join together somehow?
I'm guessing the rendering doesn't have to be perfect - as it's gonna be covered.
Love ya new hammer! 😁
Thanks Mitchell, I also want to patch the small hole as well. Can I use render as well. I want to paint after the render.
Cheers,
Ian
Thanks for replying Noyade. There was a wardrobe door between them. I uninstalled the wardrobe. I also want to patch the small hole as well(on the image as well). Can I use render as well. I want to paint after the render.
Cheers,
Ian
Hi @Ian0403
You can definitely use the render to cover the holes in your wall. Just keep in mind that once you've done the render, make sure to give it enough time to cure. Painting or drilling into the surface too soon will create fissures and compromise the strength of the render.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
