Flip number 3! A free dusty, cobwebby Tv/entertainment unit. When I sanded the top it revealed a stunning woodwork pattern of what looked like different woods. I decided then that the wood would be a focal point and gave it a lighter stain Walnut). I also changed paints to experiment with British Paints 'Prime and Paint'. LOVE it! So quick and saves a lot of time sanding and priming.

The handles were given a quick spray paint (Fiddly Bits Flat Black) and a Fiddly Bits Clear Gloss. Several layers of spray gloss on the woodwork and all finished.

I have taken the advice of @EricL and invested in an Ozito Paint sprayer! To go with the Ozito Random orbital sander, Ozito Detail Sander and Ozito Power drill -can you tell I kind of like Ozito?

Flip number 4 is all ready to begin! HUGE shout out to the amazing staff at Bunnings Southport in Crestwood - legends!

Re: Hamptons upcycled TV unit

Hello @DanaR

Your upcycle projects are just outstanding! This is truly a diamond in the rough. Your keen eye has managed to see through the cobwebs and old varnish a table worth restoring. Will you be planning to sell this project as well? That tabletop came up superb, what an excellent finish. Thank you for sharing the materials you used in restoring this TV unit.

I'm glad that you've decided to take that next step in your upcycle journey and invest in some tools. I strongly suggest registering your tools to take advantage of the warranty. You will notice that your turnaround time for sanding will be very quick, and using the sprayer will give you a totally different finish on your work. I recommend practicing on some flat pieces of timber before committing to your main project.

Here is a handy guide:

Please keep us updated, we look forward to your next upcycle project.

Eric
