From door to beadhead

I could not find an old door suitable to turn into a bedhead, so I purchased a new internal door from Bunnings along with some timber trim for this project.

Materials

Corinthian Internal Door -Rockport

Timber trim (including a length of bullnose trim) for the top and for the uprights to attach the bedhead to the bedframe.

Bedhead brackets

Paint

Liquid nails

Screws

Tools

Ryobi One + drill

Steps

Step 1

  • Srew the bullnose timber trim to the top of the bedhead, then use liquid nails to attach the top piece of timber.

Step 2

Attach timber uprights to the back side of the beadhead to give height and to attach to the bed frame with brackets. Paint.

Re: From door to beadhead

What a terrific result, @KellieN. I would never have realised that was a door until you mentioned it. It looks just fab and suits the aesthetic very well.

Great work, and many thanks for sharing.
