Door repainting tips

How can I fix this damage on the Bathroom doors. Most probably due to frequent use and water damage. Any tips ?

Thanks in advance

Re: Door repainting tips

Hi @iamtheroot,

It looks like your bathroom doors have sustained water damage, causing the MDF to swell and the paint to chip. To fix this, start by carefully cutting away the swollen, "fluffy" MDF with a utility knife or chisel until it’s level with the surrounding surface. Then, sand the area smooth using fine-grit sandpaper to ensure a flush finish. Once the surface is prepared, apply a quality primer suitable for MDF to seal the exposed area. After the primer has dried, re-coat the door with paint to protect against future damage.

Remember to wear safety glasses and cut-resistant gloves when cutting away the swollen MDF.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
