Picked up this table for $50 on marketplace to upcycle for our new dining table!
1. gave it a clean with sugar soap and dried off with microfibre cloth
2. Covered the top in varnish and stain stripper Let sit for an hour then scrapped off and cleaned remaking product off with warm soapy water and let dry.
3. used a orbital sander to remove remaining stain, starting with a course grit then finishing in a fine.
4. cleaned with sugar soap then applied dulux dune weather shield (left over from another project) to grey wash the table, painted on and rubbed off with a wet cloth.
5. Primed legs with taubmans 3in1
6. applied second coat of grey wash
7. first coat on legs with taubmans inner circle in semi gloss
8. applied feast and Weston kitchen and timber wax to table top and let sit for four hours (you don’t need to wait this long) and removed excess with microfibre cloth.
9. Applied second coat of taubmans inner circle to legs.
very happy with the results 🥰
Great upcycle @sallie24 , big doge certainly seems proud of it 😂
Hello @sallie24
What a beautiful upcycle project. It looks so modern and the colour you've chosen really makes the piece so much easier to look at. It also gives the impression that it is not so bulky.
