Re: how to match kitchen cupboard doors?

Hello @Michelled8564

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about matching kitchen cupboard doors.

Your idea of getting raw doors to paint was a good idea. However, the Kaboodle raw doors are made of compressed timber fibre and is not made of natural timber and because of this you will not see any timber patterns on it, and it can't be stained to the colour of your current kitchen door.

As a possible alternative, I suggest getting some colour samples of the Kaboodle 450mm Hazelnut V Modern Cabinet Door, the Kaboodle 450mm Spiced Oak Modern Cabinet Door and the Kaboodle 450mm Pinto Bean Modern Cabinet Door from the kitchen department. I propose having a look at these laminate timber finishes and see if one of them blends in or compliments the colour of your current kitchen doors. This would make adding new cabinets to your set a lot easier.

The only other option that comes to mind is to purchase pine panels and see if you can match the stain and sealer that was used on your original doors.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Re: How to match timber cupboard doors?

Hi @Michelled8564,

Let me also extend a very warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community.

I would encourage you to look at something that might be a contrasting feature because of the difficulties of getting a match. Have you seen Workshop member @EleventhCoastal's recent coffee station project? It might give you some inspiration. Other creative members like @redbournreno@homeinmelbourne  and @Renowayoflife might have some great suggestions for you.

All the best, we look forward to seeing this project come to life.

Jason
