Re: drilling enquiry

Hi @john101,

Welcome to the Workshop community. It's great to have you with us.

Sounds like a great project! We are looking forward to seeing it come together. Hope you can share some photos with us along the way.

Let me tag some helpful members in @LePallet@ProjectPete and @Brad to see how they might best tackle this one. Can I ask what the hole is for?

Jason

See something interesting? Give it the thumbs up!

The expensive option -

Budget option

Cheap and nasty

Drill small holes around the edge of where your 32mm hole would be and break the plug out then file/grind it to size.

I have a set of holesaws that miss 32mm that will work with metal and a TCT set that has 32mm but isn't made for metal and some step drills, I would go with a step drill as they tend to be neater finish that a holesaw. I have done the drill and file method more than 23 years ago.
