Updated table and chairs: op shop to on trend

Turned a $50 table and chairs into an on trend updated table and chair set. First stripped back the bad finish off both the table and chairs. Then repaired the split table top with some seriously large clamps and pva glue. Pulled all the chairs apart and reglued them back together. Finished the table and top of chairs with a stain and clear finish. And the chairs with black paint. Looks amazing!!

Hi @havin_a_go,

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community! It's magnificent to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your upcycled table and chairs.

What an impressive effort in repairing the round table top. Thank you very much for posting how you clamped the table together. I was very curious about how you managed this repair procedure. Did you by chance take a "before" photo of the table? It would have been interesting to see how bad the damage was. Did you just use timber PVA for the repair or did you add a support structure at the bottom of the table?

Your restoration efforts with the table and chairs are just superb. Can you please tell us the name of the stain you used on the table and what kind of black paint did you use on the chairs? The entire set now looks very modern and upmarket.

Again, thank you for sharing your upcycled table and chairs.

Eric

See something interesting? Give it the thumbs up!

Just pva glue as the rest off the table structure was pretty solid. Here are before and during.
