Upcycled drawers

Taking something that’s no longer serving it’s original purpose & giving it a new lease of life is how l love to create . So often furniture has good bones but due to wear & tear it needs a little attention rather than just being dismissed as junk . Lucky not everyone thinks like that & getting my hands on solid pieces is easy to do . This piece had damaged draws so l decided to keep what was working & remove what was not .. two old draws became shelves for storage. A new top was cut & stained  from Bunnings Timber Panels to create an over hang suitable for placing stools under . It’s purpose now serves as a fantastic Butchers Block / Bench space ..

Thank you very much for sharing this upcycled drawer project. It's always joyful to see when members become creative with upcycle projects. Giving used furniture a second life is always a plus as it prevents it from going into the tip. What's the name of that blue paint you used for the body of the cabinet? I believe this upcycled piece will give you a lot of service in the years to come.

The paint for this particular project was a chalk paint made by Annie Sloan in Greek Blue .The bench top SpecRite Timber panel in Pine was stained with Cabot’s Jarrah Timber stain & finished with Cabot’s  BenchTop Clear ..3coats
