My pantry was a decent size but the configuration made it a really awkward space. I wanted to reposition the large drawers as they were great to use and still in good condition.I rotated the infrastructure of the room, previously the fridge cavity made it really hard to access the contents of the fridge.
I discarded the original benchtop and purchased a new one from Bunnings and shelves to go above it. Due to the changes, the floor was not level so my father placed cement sheet over the whole space before tiling. He also removed the original subway tile splash back. He covered the bottom half of the wall with recycled VJ panelling to tie the space in with the main area of the kitchen.
I painted the panelling white and above this with contrasting pink and blue. I also placed small pink subway tiles above the new benchtop. I cannot believe how much easier it is to move in the space.

Re: Pantry renovation
Thank you so much for sharing your pantry renovation project. Your pantry reconfiguration has definitely yielded positive results. It has better flow and has made accessibility much more convenient. I love the tiles and colours that you've chosen for the area, it really ties it in with the timber construction of the house. How long did the entire project take? Did yo run into any challenges while doing the makeover?
Again, thank you for sharing such a wonderful project.

Re: Pantry renovation
Good afternoon @HarrietArthur
Your Pantry renovation has come up nicely Ahhh Bingo, just got what you did to improve the space
The old bench has been moved to that new spot (looks a lot nicer btw) and that frees up the space along the wall! Have to agree with @EricL that it really does give it a free flow effect. Its much more functional.
I really do like those floor tiles.
Dave
