Mondella Vege Spray Mixer leaking

We have just installed Mondella Curvy Chic Vege Spray sink mixer. Unfortunately it is leaking from the joint of the mixer and pull out hose. It's been tightened so it's not loose. I have included image. Any advice about what to do?

Re: Mondella Vege Spray Mixer leaking

Hi  @Pauliina

I could not find the installation guide for this tape I was hoping to see if they used rubber washers or not.

I am going to assume the leak is at the  gold connector either end where the other connectors join.

Idea check list to consider.

Some times we don't tighten  enough to a  compression washer.

Some times the connections are  over tightened and a  rubber washer distorts and  starts too leak a bit.

Some times we need white  plumbers tape wrapped on the male part of the screw  thread (10 turns wrapped clock ways when you are looking a the the open hole  end))   Now  re connect it.

Re: Mondella Vege Spray Mixer leaking

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Pauliina. It's sensational to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about installing a sink mixer.

@Jewelleryrescue has provided some excellent suggestions to troubleshoot your issue.

It seems likely that the leak is due to either missing plumber’s tape on the male thread or the incorrect use of tape where a rubber washer should seal the joint. Adding plumber’s tape where it isn’t needed can sometimes cause a leak by preventing proper compression of the washer.

In your image, the copper fitting appears to be hard against the chrome flexi-hose fitting. This suggests that the plumber’s tape should have been used here.

If the issue persists, it would be worth enlisting the services of a plumber as they are required for tap installations and connections of plumbing fittings.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
