We had to gut the room that had been used as the kitchen, put in a new floor, new walls, new windows, sink stove and kitchen cupboards. Once we had done the structural work we spent time with a fantastic Bunnings kitchen expert in Townsville and ordered our kitchen.
Before we could fully install all the kitchen my husband had to make the farmhouse sink fit as the kaboodle kitchen is not really built for the farmhouse sink.
Once installed the floors were completed and we cut the benchtops out of pieces of Merbau and stained them.
Once the benches were installed I tiled the splashback of the kitchen with crazy tiles from Bunnings which look fantastic.
Total kaboodle kitchen comprising of three orders - one for the long wall and blind pantry. One for the sink wall and then the island bench.

All the tools for this project were bought up front from bunnings.
We chose DeWalt and bought only dewalt tools so that all the batteries would be interchangable.

we bought a range of other smaller hand tools for these projects.
Replacement of walls and floors and installation of new windows was done first. The structural work all needed to be done before any of the more fun jobs could be done. There wasn't much to start with it all needed to be gutted and replaced.
once we had completed the structural work we commenced the install of the kitchen. Did floors and ceiling
Once the cupboards were in we put in the wooden benches and stained them - then we did the floor (tiles) and backsplash.
Completed the splashback and other items including the farmhouse sink which needed a lot of additional work.
Kitchen completed.
An absolute "wow" from me, @trish22. Your kitchen looks amazing.
The crazy tiles are undoubtedly a feature, but I also love the farmhouse sink and the space-saving island bins. Great work. Any learnings from this project? And words of advice for anyone who is about to embark on their own kitchen renovation?
Congratulations on this project once again and many thanks for sharing.

Hi Akanksha
learning - there have been heaps. One was listen to the Bunnings kitchen design people their ideas are great. Another is measure 3 times cut once!
I suppose also follow your instincts - my kids said the times would be too busy but when they were done the kids were the biggest fans.
I haven’t been online much as I’m trying to finish the laundry so I can put it up before 31 July but not sure I will be done !
thanks sgsin
