How to replace dishwasher tap?
Hiya, first DIY job in our first home Bought a new kitchen tap and watched a load of videos … only to stumble at the first step!
It seems like I should be able to turn this cold water tap off by hand?
I don’t know if the Bosch aquastop thing for the dishwasher stops the tap being turned off, if I need to turn the water off at the mains or if I’m just not strong enough! I don’t want to take a spanner to the tap if there’s just something I’m missing as a newbie
Thanks for any advice!!

Re: Replace kitchen tap
Hi @NikM,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
It should be a simple case of rotating the tap counterclockwise by a quarter turn.
Is it particularly tight and difficult to rotate? Does the small size make it difficult to grip?
You could use a mechanical aid, such as some pliers, to increase your leverage. Just make sure to wrap the tip with some tape or a cloth to prevent the grooves from damaging the tap.
Alternatively, you can always turn off the mains water at your water meter, but this tap should allow it to be avoided.
Let me know how you go.
Jacob
